Lamp, metal and moulded glass, 2015.
Speed is the design rationale behind the Rockets’ form. The strain embodied in the Rocket lamp configuration excites the space and makes it reactive, dynamic and intentionally multi-directional. Speed moulds the glass in modular elements, as the cuts were ideally produced by the impacts and friction of the glass plate against the air.
In concrete, the Rocket lamp is composed of flat glass modules, spaced out at unvarying distance. The width of each flat glass module is constant for all the three versions of the Rocket lamp (floor, pendant and table). These modules are moulded, and the couplings, clamps, and bases are metallic. Being the Rocket lamp inherently modular, it is possible to compose it in complex elements.
