Chloé
Table lamp
2018
Chloé is a sculptural lamp, extremely sophisticated, aesthetic and functional at the same time. The design is directly influenced by Boris Vian's surrealist novel Froth of the Daydream and by the music of the jazzist Duke Ellington.
Chloé's light can be direct in different positions to direct the light or oriented to the Carrara marble base of the lamp to produce a softer and diffuse illumination.
The storage base is perfect for pencils, glasses, or to host a cactus mixing modern design with a green appeal. Chloé would work just as well in a lounge, bedroom, or study since it is suitable for a bedside table or desk lamp. Its sleek lines create a refined ambience and bring a touch of class, elegance and sophistication to any interior design.
Process
“The corridor, leading to the kitchen was light because it had windows on both sides of it, and a sun shining behind each of them because Colin was fond of bright things”.
In the Boris Vian book Froth on Daydream, the house in Paris where the main character Colin lives is described to us through metaphors in a surrealist universe. The architecture, the objects, and the light change according to the protagonist’s feelings.
Chloé, which is also the name of the novel's female role, with the ability to direct the light differently, would be perfect for illuminating Colin’s house.
