Irving Silence for Olev

IRVING SILENCE
Suspension lamp
2019
For Olev
Irving Silence is a LED suspension lamp with an original design that recalls a female wide-brimmed summer hat. It is a tribute to Irving Penn’s cover for Vogue published in April 1950. At the centre of a micro-perforated metal sheet with sound-absorbing properties, an opal glass sphere illuminates the room with a diffused light.
The ability to illuminate and simultaneously absorb sounds makes Irving suitable for both residential and public context. With Irving Silence light is more than dissolving the darkness; it enhances architecture with a qualitative value more powerful and engaging.
